goals:

iPhone can download files linked to in Safari (maybe also in E-mail?)

Sync iPhone files with PC files (just like Nokia)?

PC & Mac

i-phone download links

1) Hachu's download app.
+adds a nice download button on files. anything you download, though, you have to download and then open, instead of just opening it immediately. or can you still open stuff immediately?
http://www.tuaw.com/2007/12/04/mobile-safari-plug-in-downloads-files-to-... - site about it, maybe some answers in the comments?

problems
- disables streaming in safari. maybe there is a way to get it not to? re-read those sites.
- difficult to access files? one person mentioned using send-file? re-read.
- can you still "stream" (open immediately, without going and finding) other files, like .doc?

2) HistoryDL
+You can stream when you want, and download when you want.

and if all that fails, the MobileMe page had a bunch more ideas.

Status Update:
dropbox.com seems to have everything:
+free account
+syncing, including with iPhone
+offline access of documents in iPhone

Only disadvantage is no syncing (unless windows version works) with Nokia.

To do list:
figure out folder syncing (automatic on iPhone with "favorites" button, but for PC/mac?) and explain it to Michele
